How the Daily Challenge works
A new puzzle unlocks at midnight UTC. Everyone gets the same grid, and you play it solo on your own board. There is no time limit and nothing to lose by taking it slowly.
If you want to compare, each day has a leaderboard. It ranks by solve time, and each mistake adds 30 seconds. After a third mistake you can still finish, but that result is unranked.
The difficulty climbs through the week: Monday is the gentlest puzzle and Sunday takes the most work. Every daily can be solved with singles alone, so no guessing is needed.
Questions about the daily sudoku
When does the daily sudoku reset?
A new Daily Challenge unlocks every day at midnight UTC. The app shows the unlock time in your own time zone.
How is the daily leaderboard ranked?
By solve time, fastest first. Each mistake adds 30 seconds to your time. A result with three or more mistakes still counts as finished but holds no rank.
Can I play past daily puzzles?
Yes. The Daily tab in the app has a calendar going back to January 5, 2026. Every past puzzle is playable and ranks on that day's leaderboard.
Do I have to race?
No. The Daily Challenge has no time limit. The leaderboard is there if you want it, and you can ignore it if you just want a calm puzzle.
